Bad news: Pat Robertson is predicting "mass killing" this year, according to the New York Daily News. (Maybe he, too, caught wind of Bush's plan to call for "sacrifice.") The News's Bill Hutchinson quotes Robertson telling his 700 Club viewers that "the evil people will come after this country, and there's a possibility—not a possibility, a definite certainty—that chaos is going to rule.... God said he's going to restrain the evil, but he isn't necessarily going to restrain it in the beginning.... A lot of these things can be reversed; we just need to do a lot of praying."

Before you bow down, remember that this isn't Robertson's first prediction. After the jump, some samples of the good preacher's often blurry visions....

• 2006: "If I heard the Lord right about 2006, the coasts of America will be lashed by storms."

• 2005: "The Lord has some very encouraging news for George Bush.... Bush is now positioned to have victory after victory and his second term is going to be one of triumph.... He will also have Social Security reform passed, that he will have tax reform passed, that he'll have conservative judges on the courts, and that basically he is positioned for a series of dramatic victories."

• 2004: "I think George Bush is going to win in a walk.... I really believe I'm hearing from the Lord it's going to be like a blowout election in 2004. It's shaping up that way.... The Lord has just blessed him."
