Troubled talk show host Larry King suddenly collapsed — and fell on his hands and knees — while walking along a Beverly Hills street!

Now friends are terrified the 82-year-old's cancer has returned — or he's suffering from another killer disease.

King took a nasty tumble and was saved from a dangerous face-plant by a woman who grabbed his arm. But the Good Samaritan couldn't completely break his fall. Dazed and stunned King landed on all fours — then struggled to get back to his feet during the Sept. 17 incident.

He needed to brace his left hand on a parked car as he slowly got back on his feet, but King, who is rebounding from a sizzling cheating scandal involving his 56-year-old wife, Shawn, didn't appear to be badly injured.

In fact, a representative insists King is healthy as a horse!

But insiders are worried King, who was left impotent by prostate cancer, may be battling the killer disease yet again. They also fear King is having trouble with his ticker.

The CNN legend's father died from a heart attack when King was just 9 years old — and that early death caused a life-long obsession with his own mortality.

Diabetic King himself has battled heart disease for nearly 30 years. He was felled by a heart attack at age 53 in 1987 and that same year had a quintuple bypass.

A decade later, King underwent angioplasty to remove a blockage in one of his heart vessels, and in 2007 surgeons had to remove a blockage in his carotid artery.

A source said King has particularly been obsessed with his death and old age lately, and has instructed his sons by Shawn — Chance, 17, and Cannon, 16 — to not let Shawn "put me in a home" if his condition gets worse.

"But we're all praying Larry will be with us for a long time," said a source. "He's old and bent — and seems physically frail — but he's as feisty as ever and full of life!"
