Brand-new shocking details have come to light about Miami Marlin's star pitcher Jose Fernandez's tragic death that happened last month.

According to the toxicology results, Associate Medical Examiner Kenneth Hutchins said the 24-year-old athlete not only had a blood alcohol concentration of .147% — nearly twice the legal limit — but also had taken cocaine, which was found in his system during the autopsy.

As RadarOnline.com reported, Fernandez was just months away from becoming a father when a grisly boating accident killed him and two pals around 3 am off a Miami beach.

According to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesman Lorenzo Veloz, Fernandez and his pals were going "full speed" when they encountered a jetty. All three suffered blunt force injures to the head and torso areas.

The athlete's tragic death left his teammates sobbing last month as his body left the field for the final time.
