Gwyneth Paltrow has been slammed over the years for ideas promoted on her lifestyle website, Goop, which critics have called pretentious and unrealistic. But now, the notoriously disliked star is passing the buck, blaming one of her editors for the 'consciously uncoupling' idea!

Back in March 2014, Paltrow announced that she was divorcing Chris Martin after 10 years in a Goop article entitled Consciously Uncoupling, and the masses were left scratching their heads. "When I announced that I was separating on the website, my editor titled the piece ‘Conscious Uncoupling’ and I had no idea," Paltrow said in an interview with Fast Company. After the public responded with confusion, both at the article, as well as its title, the staffer allegedly became concerned that there would be backlash.

"When something like that happens, I think everybody is like, ‘Oh, sh*t,’ " Paltrow said. But ever the ‘cool’ boss, she claims to have taken it all in stride. "I just tell them that I think we are creating interesting discussions."

However, Paltrow has not always been so laid back regarding her public image. As RadarOnline.com reported in October 2013, she was outed for begging friends not to cooperate with editors at Vanity Fair who were publishing an unflattering article about the star.

Still, when it comes to Goop, Paltrow maintains that “misperceptions” are based on people relying to heavily on gossip, and not actually giving her and her site a chance. "It seems that when people really engage, they understand who we are and what we’re doing."
