Kid Killer: Florida Dad Sentenced For Stuffing Sock In Baby Son's Mouth

A Florida father has been sentenced to life in prison after killing his 2-month-old son by stuffing a sock in his mouth in order to stop him from crying, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Accoridng to The News Herald, Gene Anthony Quinones-Rivera, 27, pleaded no contest on Monday to the death in 2015.
A Panama City judge slammed the former father with the maximum sentence for second-degree murder, landing him behind bars for life.
In December 2016, Quinones-Rivera reportedly walked into a police station and confessed to killing his son, Gediaelamir Rivera, after putting a sock in the baby’s mouth to stop his crying and went to bed.
Hours later, Quinones-Rivera — who has been trained as a nurse — tried to revive his son with CPR and placing him in cold water, but was unsuccessful.
Quinones-Rivera claimed he the put Gediaelamir’s body in a trash bag and disposed of it in a remote area in Bay County, Florida, without notifying the police.

In an interview in January, the shamed father admitted he smoked marijuana that night and felt "angry" over his son's crying. Quinones-Rivera told cops he "needed to pay" for the death.
Gediaelamir’s mother, Yanoshua Ramos-Melendez, has also been charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child. She has yet to enter a plea.
Quinones-Rivera will spend the rest of his life behind bars in South Florida.
