As Bill Cosby prepares to go to trial for his sexual assault case, the shamed comedian's defense team has been working tirelessly to convince wife Camille Cosby to "stand by his side" throughout the process, Page Six reports.

Montgomery County prosecutors announced their decision last Wednesday to criminally charge Cosby with aggravated indecent assault, after reopening an investigation of the 78-year-old in an alleged sexual assault on a former Temple University employee, Andrea Constand, in 2004.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Cosby's wife may be forced to testify in the shocking lawsuit, revealing what she knows about the Cosby Show star's history with seven women suing him over similar claims.

Though Camille remained publicly supportive of her husband during the scandal, sources told the Post that she's become wary of her husband in recent weeks, vowing to "no longer be his crutch."

Meanwhile, Cosby's lawyers are working hard to change her mind.
