It’s official – Teresa Giudice will not be spending her prison sentence in a halfway house, according to reports.

U.S. District Court Judge Esther Salas, who was the judge presiding over the Giudice sentencing hearing, told the Real Housewives of New Jersey star that she won’t recommend that Teresa spend the majority of her sentence in a halfway house, which would have allowed for her to work and visit home on the weekends.

During a conference call with Teresa’s lawyer, Stacy Ann Biancamano, and federal prosecutors, Salas said that Teresa should have asked for the halfway house setup during her Oct. 2 sentencing. But before giving Teresa the opportunity to say, “shoulda, coulda, woulda,” Salas admitted that she probably wouldn’t have granted the reality star’s wish.

"The issue was never raised and it was never before the court," Salas said.

But in an unsurprising move, Teresa’s lawyer told Salas that her client didn’t know she could put in the request at the time.

"She really wasn't fully understanding of how the sentencing process works," Biancamano said.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Teresa admitted to Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen that she didn’t understand the plea bargain she signed.

I didn’t fully understand it,” Giudice explained to Cohen. “I thought my lawyer was going to fight for me.

“That’s what lawyers do. That’s pretty much that’s why you hire an attorney,” she added.

The Bureau of Prisons will make the final determination on her sentence.
