With a few tough years behind him, cancer survivor Michael Douglas is on the mend — and so is his marriage to wife Catherine Zeta Jones. But as the beloved actor prepares to celebrate his seventieth birthday on September 25, RadarOnline.com has learned, he’s received the greatest news yet in a series of lucky breaks: His son Cameron will be released from jail sooner than expected!

As RadarOnline.com has reported, Cameron, 35, is currently serving time at Cumberland FCI in Pennsylvania. He has been in jail since 2009, following a conviction for conspiracy to distribute narcotics after being caught with crystal meth and cocaine. Cameron, whose mom is the actor’s ex-wife, Diandra, was released from solitary confinement at the prison earlier this year.

Previously reported to have a 2018 release date, Douglas is now scheduled to get out on March 18, 2017, according to prison records recently viewed by RadarOnline.com.

“It’s great news,” a source close to the family told RadarOnline.com. “Cam really isolated himself from everyone when he got into meth. He went to a dark place. But his family and friends are standing by him and hope he’s serious about his recovery. He still has a chance to have a great life.”
